Farmer Paul Taylor shovels the upper crust of soil on his Esmond farm on Monday, March 21, 2016. Taylor practices conservation tillage and planted cereal rye over the left over corn from the fall harvest. This ground cover once the soybeans are planted will allow the soil to hold moisture longer and stay cool which is important beacause this summer is predicted to be warmer because of El Nino.
