DeKalb City Engineer John Laskowski, who is also a member of the Northern Illinois University chapter of Engineers Without Borders, was part of a team who redesigned a water filtration system containing a clay filter and a five-gallon water jug- as seen here- and is sustainable for those living in rural Mexico. The filter removes fluoride from the water to make it drinkable and filters about four liters of water per hour.
