Emergency responders pull the driver of a vehicle that was struck by a cement truck onto a stretcher Wednesday in the parking lot of the Northern Illinois University Visitor and Alumni Center. At around 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, a sedan traveling north on Annie Glidden Road was struck from behind by a cement truck after the sedan reportedly changed lanes in front of the truck and stopped abruptly to make a left turn, said Jeff McMaster, battalion chief for DeKalb Fire Department.
All four people in the sedan were transported to Kishwaukee Community Hopsital. Three had minor injuries and one had more serious injuries, McMaster said. The crash occured near the intersection of Annie Glidden Road and Stadium Drive.
