Sycamore Assistant Fire Chief Marc Doty said there was a first floor fire that took roughly 10 minutes to contain. Sycamore was assisted by DeKalb, Cortland and Genoa-Kingston fire crews and Sycamore police. Doty said he did not know how much damage was done and the cause of the fire was still under investigation. While there was not much visible structure damage, firefighters were working inside the house for more than an hour after extinguishing the blaze.

At around 3:55 p.m. Wednesday, a sedan traveling north on Annie Glidden Road was struck from behind by a cement truck after the sedan reportedly changed lanes in front of the truck and stopped abruptly to make a left turn, said Jeff McMaster, battalion chief for DeKalb Fire Department. <br /> All four people in the sedan were transported to Kishwaukee Community Hopsital. Three had minor injuries and one had more serious injuries, McMaster said. The crash occured near the intersection of Annie Glidden Road and Stadium Drive.
