Heartland Blood Centers will hold a blood drive from 1-5 p.m. Wednesday in the garden level conference room of Kishwaukee Community Hospital. Those looking for a way to pay respects to the lives lost in 9/11 can donate blood. Those interestedin giving blood can call 815-756-1521, ext. 151000, or go to  <a href="http://www.heartlandbc.org">http://www.heartlandbc.org</a> to sign up. Walk-ins are welcome, but a largecrowd is expected. All donors will receive a “Remember 9.11” T-shirt and coupons for pints of Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.

Shoes donated by Genoa-Kingston Middle School students line the school's foyer and are also being lined up in the gymnasium. The school's goal is to get 2,977 pairs to represent the 2,977 victims of the Sept. 11 attacks.<br />
