Firefighter/paramedics battle a blaze at the historic Boynton House, 307 N. Main Street, on Friday, Dec. 16, 2016 in Sycamore. Home owner Dave Waters said that no one was home during the fire, but at least one of his three cats was saved from the fire. Waters was at work at his Cortland store, Just Parts, when he received a call from his alarm company alerting him of the fire. Waters was considering putting the house on the real estate market on Thursday and was having work done on the house. He was told that the fire started in the back of the home, where a carpenter's van was parked.
