Spectators watch the proceedings Friday during the opening ceremony for the 24-hour Veterans Vigil at the Avenue of Flags in front of the DeKalb County Courthouse in Sycamore. Honorably discharged military veterans will stand guard during the vigil which runs from 4 p.m. Friday through 4 p.m. Saturday.
