Carl Russell, of Sandwich, is escorted into the courtroom Friday by a DeKalb County Sheriff's deputy for his sentencing hearing for the attempted murder of Eric Peterson. Russell was convicted in June for shooting Peterson in the face after a confrontation in the early morning hours of July 2, 2017.
