Joe Long, DeKalb Fire Department paramedic, demonstrates the use of a Lucas device in the back of an ambulance Wednesday at station 1. The machine, which perfoms CPR on a patient, frees up paramedics to perfom other tasks to help revive an individual. The Lucas is just one of several tools and medications the ambulance carries on every call.
