Irene Clay, 86, of Fairdale, sits by the window of a relative's house in Kirkland on Thursday, June 25, 2015 where she is a guest until her home in Fairdale is rebuilt. Clay survived two separate cancers and the tornado on April 9 that destroyed the home she purchased in 1955. She now battles lung cancer, in which her doctor diagnosed as terminal, and wishes to have her home rebuilt in time to enjoy it. On July 1, the DeKalb County Planning and Zoning Committee and the DeKalb County Board will meet to discuss the rezoning requests regarding Fairdale, so that a rebuilding process may begin.
