Joe Daebelliehn of Ottawa, 20, holds his head as he surveys the damage of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Perry Road and Hwy. 23 in DeKalb on Friday, April 21, 2017. Daebelliehn was driving a 2009 Ford Escape southbound on Hwy 23 when, at approximately 1:58pm, Bailey Kiley of Huntley, 20, proceeded through the stop sign in a tan 2006 Lexus, hitting the vehicle Daebelliehn was driving, causing it to roll over multiple times. Daebelliehn was able to exit his vehicle with no injuries; Kiley was transported to Kishwaukee Hospital with non-life threatening injuries and ticketed for driving without a valid drivers license and failure to yield at a stop intersection.
Witness Amy Lundeen of Sandwich says "I don't think [Kiley] stopped all the way, she pulled out in front of him and they kind of spun around," at the intersection of Perry Road & Hwy 23 on Friday, April 21, 2017 in DeKalb. DeKalb County Sheriffs Department Sergeant Ryan Pettengell added that there was "one minor injury, [Kiley] was transported to the hospital with a leg injury."
